As In House Counsel, you will work closely with others on the team, outside consultants/counsel, government officials and agency staff. You will be responsible for researching, identifying, and advising on land related matters, compliance, risk management, acquisitions, dispositions, governance, and other corporate legal matters. You will prepare/review agreements, applications, documents, and memorandums. And you will be responsible for presentations and negotiations as required.
For this role, we are looking for someone who has a minimum of five years of experience as Legal Counsel specializing in real estate development. You are detailed, organized, and keep the team informed of milestone dates and project status. To keep projects moving forward, you will enjoy interpreting, challenging or advocating for or against legislation, regulation, or interpretation of law. And you are a team player who enjoys collaborating and working with others in an office environment.
To be successful in this role, you are tenacious, willing to work hard and challenge the status quo. You bring a ‘can-do’, self-start motivation, and have a desire to hit and exceed goals with your follow through on commitments. And you have a passion for real estate development and seeing projects though to completion.
